Kim has more than 35 years of experience in pediatric nursing and leadership. She is currently serving as AVP, Cardiac Service Line/ Nursing and Clinical Operations- FL, responsible for the clinical operations of the Nemours cardiac service line in Florida. Prior to this role Kim, was the Senior Director of Perioperative Services, Cardiac Services, Transport and Respiratory Therapy.
Kim began her career as a clinical nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care/Respiratory Care Unit at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. During her 24 years with UPMC, she served as inpatient surgical coordinator for the Department of Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgery, assistant director of the Department of Trauma Prevention, and ethics consultant. Before joining Nemours in 2012, she spent five years with The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh and Lemieux Family Center as hospital director and chief clinical officer.
Kim earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing and an MBA from Waynesburg University, where she served as adjunct faculty. She is board-certified as an Advanced Nurse Executive.
Kim brings a depth of diverse experience and accomplishments to the Nemours leadership team, including nursing recruitment and retention, team building, facilities management, supply chain management, information technology, care coordination, program development, strategic planning, quality assurance, staff and patient education, and clinical research. She serves on hospital committees to advance patient safety, patient care services, and medical staff quality. Kim brings strong business background and perspective to budgeting and cost containment while delivering high quality patient and family focused care.
