Brian Freedman, PhD
Brian Freedman, PhD, is a Psychologist and the Director of the Swank Autism Center at Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware. At Nemours, he leads clinical services, research, training, community partnerships, and a neurodiversity hiring initiative. Brian has spent over 25 years supporting the autism community at schools, hospitals, clinics, and universities. He is passionate about creating community-based programs and research that are based upon the expressed needs of autistic people and their families. Brian has developed college and career transition programs for teens and young adults with ASD and/or Intellectual Disabilities for the past 10+ years. He is driven to develop and advocate for policies and processes that push for greater inclusion of autistic people and others with intellectual/developmental disabilities, particularly those from minoritized backgrounds.
