NCHFL PICU In-Situ Simulation Series 2026
The PICU In-Situ Simulation Program brings interprofessional critical care teams together in their own clinical environment to practice responding to high-acuity, low-occurrence (HALO) events. These simulations focus on improving teamwork, communication, and effective use of equipment to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
Target Audience
Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, Patient Care Techs and Respiratory Therapists
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate effective teamwork (including closed-loop communication, shared mental model, SBAR, and clear roles & responsibilities.)
- Demonstrate operational preparedness in the PICU for high-acuity, low-occurence (HALO) events.
- Perform critical actions to stabilize the PICU patient.
