Pediatric specialty transport teams rely on their expert skills and efficient systems to provide safe and timely transports of critically ill neonates and children to tertiary centers. This didactic series provides interprofessional clinicians / nurses/ respiratory therapists / emergency medical technicians quarterly education focused on the important aspects of care during transport to ensure optimal outcomes for children. This regularly scheduled series provides the opportunity to attend a didactic session that discusses and analyzes the latest research, interesting cases, and evidence-based practices related to the specialty of Neonatal/Pediatric Critical Care Transport.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the assessment and stabilization of critically ill pediatric patients in preparation for transport.
- Recognize potential problems in pediatric patients during transport and describe appropriate interventions for each quarterly topic.
