Speaker Name(s): Julissa Coriano, LCSW, MEd., and Noah Duckett, LCSW

Objectives:

  • Attendees will be educated on the myriads of intersections that impact the Latinx sexual identity.
  • Attendees will be able to recognize the specific needs of the LGBTQIA-identified Latine community and therefore will be able to build best practices on serving the community.

Practice Change

  • Embodying the notion that the LGBTQIA-identified Latine experience is unique and specific with many intersections. Applying generalizations based on Liberal, Western, White, experiences may be more harmful than helpful, especially in the fields of reproductive health, mental health, and advocacy.
