Sandra Glenn-Vernon, MSN, RN, CCRN, NHDP, PHRN
Sandy is an enthusiastic and dedicated direct care nurse for Nemour's Children's Hospital Delaware. Her passion and desire to influence outcomes in children started with her critical care nursing career almost 30 years ago. For the past 25 years, Sandy has been serving children and Nemours working 17 years in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the last 8 for the Critical Care Transport Team (CCTT). Achieving a MS degree in Community Nursing and Population Health with a post-master certificate in Environmental Health has elevated her practice with recognizing and implementing tenets of the Social Determinants of Health, Health Equity, and Diversity and Inclusion. Sandy currently remains active in quality and safety as the CCTT representative to the Nursing Shared Governance Quality Council where she also served as the Chair. She is also active in supporting Emergency Management Operations as a committee member and as a past Labor Pool lead where she continues to serve as a resource. Sandy has represented Nemours on two previous medical missions to Haiti post a devastating earthquake in 2010 and serves on the Delaware Medical Reserves. Sandy has also participated in the Nemours Nursing Research Fellowship lending to her desire to participate in ongoing research, EBP development, and Quality Improvement. Sandy currently serves as Treasurer and founding board member of the Delaware Chapter of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and recently served as a member of the Delaware Board of Nursing.
