Course Title: The Pediatric Surface and Burn Trauma
Course Description: This course provides healthcare professionals with comprehensive knowledge and skills to effectively assess, manage, and treat pediatric patients with surface burn trauma. Participants will learn about the unique physiological and psychological needs of pediatric burn patients, evidence-based treatment protocols, and the latest advancements in burn care. Through interactive lectures, case studies, and hands-on practice, this course aims to enhance the competency and confidence of healthcare providers in delivering high-quality care to pediatric burn victims.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to
- Describe the different types of burns (thermal, chemical, electrical) and their specific impact on pediatric patients.
- Implement initial management strategies, including fluid resuscitation, pain management, and wound care, tailored to pediatric patients.
- Integrate multidisciplinary approaches, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and psychological support, to address the holistic needs of pediatric burn patients.
