Course Description:

This interactive case-based series is designed to enhance the clinical acumen of cardiac ICU nurses in managing pediatric patients with congenital heart defects (CHDs). Through real-world scenarios and guided discussion, participants will deepen their understanding of the anatomical and physiological nuances of common CHDs such as Tetralogy of Fallot, Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), and Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). The series will explore the hemodynamic consequences of these defects, emphasizing their impact on perfusion and oxygenation. Additionally, learners will examine perioperative safety concerns and potential complications, equipping them with critical thinking skills to optimize patient outcomes in high-acuity settings.
