Objectives
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Evaluate the influence of patients’ and families’ spiritual beliefs on healing processes, advocacy, decision-making, and perceptions of interdisciplinary care by integrating research, case examples, and expert perspectives.
  • Analyze insights from representatives of various faith groups to identify how their beliefs manifest in hospital settings, and formulate strategies for maintaining respectful, effective communication that supports optimal patient and family care.

Practice Change
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Assess the role of each patient’s and family’s spiritual beliefs in their care and engage in healthy conversations to address the needs of the whole person.
