Material-Specific Objectives:

  • Understanding the critical importance of timely emergency management in the case of avulsion of a permanent tooth
  • Identifying the appropriate steps for reimplanting an avulsed tooth based on root maturity and time out of the socket
  • Recognizing the instances in which reimplantation is not indicated and formulating an alternative treatment plan for the patient based on age and cooperation
  • Incorporating the principles learned into practice during hospital call and discussing recent relevant cases
