Dr. Maxwell received her medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physician and Surgeons in New York. She completed her pediatric residency and her pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx. Immediately prior to arriving at Nemours, she was a KL2 clinical scholar at The Rockefeller University where she conducted translational and clinical research on Fanconi anemia, an inherited bone marrow failure syndrome. In addition to the clinical care of children with cancer and blood disorders, Dr. Maxwell is also interested in research focused on mitigating cancer treatment related toxicities and improving clinical outcomes in long term survivors of pediatric cancer.
