Teerin Meckmongkol, MD/PHD/FACS
Dr. Teerin Meckmongkol attended graduate school at the University of Michigan and earned a Master of Science degree in Biomechanics in 2001 before attending Albany Medical College. During while pursuing her medical degree at Albany Medical College, she participated in their MD/PhD program and earned an additional Master of Science (2and Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences, in addition to her medical degree in 2009. She completed her General Surgery Residency at Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel University College of Medicine in 2016. During her residency training at Hahnemann University Hospital, she was also the Surgical Research Fellow at St/ Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia from 2011-2013. She later received her fellowship training in Pediatric Surgery at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Dr. Meckmongkol started her career at Nemours Children’s Health System in Orlando. She is an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Pediatric Surgery at the University of Central Florida. She is board certified with the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery. She continues to pursue her interest in translation medicine and quality initiatives in surgical performance improvement and patient safety.
