Omer Abdul Hamid, MD

Dr. Omer Abdul Hamid grew up in Northern Virginia. At a young age, an interest in Neuroscience developed after he volunteered at a Neuromuscular camp for children. Dr. Abdul Hamid graduated from Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine then completed his Internship Residency at the University of Tennessee and his fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He has medical expertise in Neuromuscular disorders, Myotonic Dystrophy, Myasthenia Gravis, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and general Neurology diagnosis like epilepsy and movement disorders. Dr. Abdul Hamid enjoys participating in research studies and is fascinated by the work being conducted in the neuromuscular field. In his free time he enjoys traveling, cooking, baking bread and staying active outside.
