I am a third-year medical student at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and an officer in the United States Navy Medical Corps. My interests include pediatrics, public health, and global health. My undergraduate degree is from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, where I studied Biomedical Physics and Biology.  My undergraduate research involved quantitative work on medical device materials and machine learning applications using synthetic physiological data. As a medical student, I have shifted my focus to both quantitative and qualitative research exploring how structural and social determinants of health (SSDoH) impact vulnerable pediatric populations. I am currently involved in a study evaluating the relationship between SSDoH and clinical outcomes in pediatric intensive care units (PICUs) at a major children’s hospital in Florida.
