Madeline Velazquez "Maddy" attended the University of Missouri, Columbia where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Child Life. During her time in school Maddy completed a Child Life Internship at Children's Minnesota Hospital sharing her time between the Minneapolis and St Paul campus on the PICU, NICU, Surgery and ED units. Maddy found a passion for the ED population during this time and made the decision to make the move and accept the offer here at Nemours. Since starting with Nemours ED, 3 years ago Maddy has found herself participating in committees in the ED, CL and hospital wide. Maddy is a member of Bereavement committee, co-chair for Teen Advisory Council, chair of Prom Commitee, member of Pain Project in the ED, facilitators for Disney Team of Heros. In 2023 Maddy also attended BASE camp, an intensive simulation-based training program for RNs, Fellows and CLS to practice their skills as a team, Maddy returned in 2024 as a facilitator and is looking forward to returning in 2025 to continue to grow and develop her bedside skills.
