Carlos Rose, Honorary professor of Pediatrics
I graduated Summa cum Laude in 1977 and did my residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Buenos Aires. Fellowship in Rheumatology was at the National Institute of Rehabilitation under the late O Garcia-Morteo. Training in Pediatrics was at Thomas Jefferson University and in Pediatric Rheumatology at the University of Pennsylvania with Dr Balu Athreya. I joined duPont Hospital, part of the Jefferson system, in Wilmington and became Division Chief in 1995 and retired in 2020. I am an Honorary Professor of Pediatrics at Jefferson and member of ACR and PRES.
My research is in Lyme and Granulomatous Arthritis. I published about 50 peer- reviewed papers, some invited manuscripts and chapters and presented 100 papers at meetings. I am editor of Kids Health en Español, a web site sponsored by the Nemours Foundation. I am part of the Advisory Council of the PRCSG, Co-Chair of the Pediatric Committee of PANLAR (Pan-American League of Associations for Rheumatology) and editor of the Pediatric Rheumatology Primer Project, completed and published in 2005. I was made this year chair of the Pediatric Committee of ILAR (International League of Associations of Rheumatology) position vacated by Dr Petty’s retirement. More recently, I was elected member of the EC of the Pediatric Section of the ACR. I currently chair the Hospital’s IRB.
