Nader Shaikh, MD, MPH
Dr. Shaikh graduated from medical school and general pediatrics residency in Philadelphia. He completed a General Academic Pediatrics fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and joined the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a tenured Professor of Pediatrics and heads the Translational Science Unit for the Division of General Academic Pediatrics.
In the area of acute sinusitis, Dr. Shaikh recently published a large study in JAMA sponsored by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases evaluating efficacy of antibiotic treatment for children with acute sinusitis.
In the area of AOM, he contributed to a series of studies evaluating the efficacy, adequate duration of antimicrobial therapy and efficacy of tympanostomy tubes in children with recurrent AOM.
In the area of UTI, Dr. Shaikh evaluated prevalence, definition, diagnosis, treatment in children.
