Lisa Buckloh, Ph.D.
I am a licensed pediatric psychologist who has worked at Nemours Children's Health- Jacksonville since the completion of my post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatric Psychology at Nemours in 1999. I received my MA and Ph.D. in Clinical Child Psychology from the University of Kansas and did my internship in Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Florida. I received my AB from Duke University. I hold an academic appointment of Assistant Professor of Psychology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. I provide care to patients and families as well as supervise post-doctoral psychology fellows in outpatient and inpatient medical settings. I also provide training and supervision to master level mental health providers in a new Pediatric Acute Telemental Health program (PATH), designed to give families quick access to mental evaluations, brief treatment intervention, and resources in the community for longer-term needs. I specialize in working with transgender and gender diverse youth and their families and am involved in retrospective research with this population as well as an initiative at Nemours to be more sensitive to the needs of all patients with appropriate pronouns capture and use within our electronic medical record and organization. I also have specialized training in Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) and treat patients with motor and vocal tics. I collaborate with NCH-Jacksonville Continence Clinic to provide psychological services to youth with incontinence. I have published peer-reviewed papers and book chapters in the areas of transgender and gender diverse youth, diabetes in youth, and professional issues. I have presented at national conferences and been a grant reviewer. I recently was asked to join the Editorial Board of the Journal of Pediatric Psychology. I have held a leadership position at Wolfson Children’s Hospital as the Section Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychology.
