Laura Owens, MD EMBA is a pediatric physiatrist and part of the Nemours Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation. She received her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed a combined pediatric and physical medicine and rehabilitation residency through Nemours and Thomas Jefferson University. At Nemours, Dr. Owens is part of the cerebral palsy team, seeing patients with a focus on optimizing function, including managing tone, equipment, therapy and school support. In addition, she has a special focus on bone health in medically complex children, optimizing bone health through the life span. Dr. Owens is the medical director at HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy and is also the director of the Feeding Program and oversees the Nemours NICU Follow Up Clinic. She is also an active part of the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine, frequently presenting on various topics and recently a part of the Complex Care Committee.
