Tyree Winters, DO, FACOP, FAAP is the Vice Chair of Education and Director of Graduate Medical Education for Nemours Children’s Health-Delaware Valley in Wilmington, Delaware.
Dr. Winters is committed to community pediatrics and child advocacy and maintains a special interest in helping youth combat obesity. To that end, he created a dance exercise program for kids and adopted the moniker “Dr. Tye: Hip Hop Dance Doc.” As Dr. Tye, he has been featured in a variety of media, both online and print.
Dr. Winters serves as the Vice President of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians. Additionally, he is the At-Large Board Member for the Association of Pediatric Program Directors and serve on the ACGME Review Committee for Pediatrics. Dr. Winters has lectured widely, both regionally and nationally, on topics such as obesity, health equality and innovation in pediatric medical education.
Dr. Winters received his BA from the University of Michigan and his DO from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his postgraduate training at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. In addition to his duties at Nemours Children’s Health, he is a clinical assistant professor in the department of pediatrics at Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University.
