Ataya Spears, MD is a PGY-1 resident physician in Pediatrics at Nemours Children’s Hospital/Thomas Jefferson University. She completed her undergraduate studies at Spelman College and graduated with her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine. Her clinical practice is rooted in the belief that strong patient rapport is the foundation of effective medicine. Ataya strives to provide culturally competent care, with the understanding that each patient has a unique social and cultural background that shapes their health journey. Ataya enjoys the full breadth of Pediatrics and is still exploring where her clinical interests may lie. Outside of the hospital, Ataya is an avid reader and loves to travel.
