Juan Francisco Cabello, MD, is a pediatric neurologist with expertise in inborn errors of metabolism and neurometabolic disorders. He works at the Inborn Errors of Metabolism Laboratory at the Nutrition and Food Technology Institute (INTA) at the University of Chile, Honorary Professor at the University of Valparaíso, and Adjunct Faculty in Neurology at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Cabello has led clinical and academic initiatives in newborn screening and metabolic disease programs across Chile and Latin America. He previously served as President of the Latin American Society of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Newborn Screening (SLEIMPN). His work focuses on improving diagnosis, treatment, and access to care for rare metabolic diseases through clinical care, research, and international collaboration.
