Dr. Anderst is a Child Abuse Pediatrician, the Division Director of the Division of Child Adversity and Resilience, and Professor of Pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO.  He is also Director of Strategy and Innovation for Promise 1000, a home visiting collaborative in the greater Kansas City metropolitan region focused on improving health and social outcomes for at risk, young children and their families.  Dr. Anderst has worked collaboratively with governmental and non-profit agencies in successfully creating an aligned, fiscally supported medical response to child maltreatment in Missouri.  Dr. Anderst has published over 60 peer reviewed research articles and over 20 book chapters and invited reviews and serves on multiple state and national boards targeting child maltreatment and prevention.  Dr. Anderst has also developed innovative educational materials, including a smart phone app used worldwide by medical and non-medical professionals in cases of alleged child maltreatment.
