Dr. Powers is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas where she also serves as the Section Chief of Hematology within the Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center. Jackie was the Founding Director of the Iron Disorders and Nutritional Anemias program at her center. She was the lead author a new joint clinical peport on iron deficiency for the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Society of Pediatric Hematology Oncology and serves as the clinical co-chair of the American Society of Hematology diagnostic guidelines for iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia.
