David Blauvelt, MD
Dr. David Blauvelt is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Thomas Jefferson University and an attending physician within the Division of Critical Care Medicine at Nemours Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Blauvelt has an interest in utilizing bioengineering to advance the care of critically-ill children. His research towards building an oxygenator for an artificial placenta circuit has garnered several awards through multiple pediatric device consortia at UCSF, Stanford, and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Additionally, his research work has been funded by institutional, foundational, and federal grants.
Prior to coming to Nemours, Dr. Blauvelt earned a medical degree in 2015 through the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology (HST) program. He completed his pediatrics residency at the Boston Combined Residency Program (BCRP) and pediatric critical care fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.
