Tiffany Bohr, MD

Tiffany M. Bohr, MD, FASCP, is a board-certified clinical pathologist, transfusion medicine physician, and hematopathologist currently serving as the Medical Director of Apheresis and Cellular Therapy Collections at Nemours Children’s Health in Wilmington, Delaware. Her academic appointments include Clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology and Genomic Medicine with a secondary appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Thomas Jefferson University. She specializes in apheresis medicine, cellular therapy collections, transfusion medicine, and hematopathology, bringing a decade of research, clinical training, and leadership experience to her role.
Dr. Bohr earned her Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biotechnology and Biochemistry (magna cum laude) from Millersville University in 2008 before beginning an extensive research career at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. Her early work as a research technician, laboratory manager, and clinical research project manager contributed to advancements in infectious disease, pulmonary medicine, and immunology.
She went on to complete her medical degree at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 2020, where she received multiple academic scholarships and teaching awards. She subsequently pursued residency training in Clinical Pathology (2020–2023) followed by a Hematopathology Fellowship at Penn State Health (2023–2024) and a Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (2024–2025).
Board-certified in Clinical Pathology, Transfusion Medicine, and Hematopathology, Dr. Bohr has developed deep expertise in transfusion support, complex hematologic diagnostics, blood supply stewardship, therapeutic apheresis, cellular collections for stem cell transplant, CAR-T, and gene therapy.
Her academic and research interests span transfusion medicine, apheresis practice optimization, tickborne disease diagnostics, and infectious disease serology. She has served as a clinical laboratory consultant for Penn State’s Institute for Personalized Medicine and as a co‑investigator in the Division of Infectious Disease, contributing to grant-funded studies and multi-institutional collaborations.
Dr. Bohr has authored peer-reviewed publications in Journal of Infectious Diseases, American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Annals of Vascular Surgery, and Infection and Immunity. She has presented her work nationally at the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies, the American Thoracic Society, and other regional and international venues.
Her dedication to medical education is reflected in multiple teaching awards, leadership in medical student curriculum coordination, and invited lectures spanning hematopathology, coagulation, benign hematology, transfusion medicine, and diagnostic stewardship.
Dr. Bohr is an active member of ASFA, AABB, ASCP, and CAP, and maintains medical licensure in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Florida. In her current role at Nemours Children’s Health, she leads programs supporting pediatric and young adult patients requiring therapeutic apheresis and cellular therapy collection, ensuring high-quality, safe, and compassionate care.
