Thomas Caruso, MD, PhD
Dr. Caruso is a Clinical Professor of Pediatric Anesthesiology at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. He is the Program Director of the Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship and an avid Pediatric Regional Anesthesiologist. He is also the co-founder and co-Director of the Stanford Chariot Program, which aims to reduce pediatric patients’ anxiety and pain by utilizing immersive technologies, including augmented and virtual reality. He has published and presented widely on the use of immersive technologies in healthcare settings. Dr. Caruso holds a BS in biochemistry from the University of Virginia, a master’s degree in medical education from Johns Hopkins University, and a MD and PhD in education from Stanford University.
