Course Description:

Join our accredited continuing education series designed for nurses in the inpatient rehabilitation unit. Each quarterly session addresses real-world practice gaps identified through direct observation, evidence-based guidelines, emerging technologies, and feedback from team learning needs assessments. This program equips nurses with practical strategies to enhance patient care, improve practice, and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Pre-activity Literature Review: Currant, peer-reviewed articles selected for their relevance to clinical practice, process improvement, and interprofessional collaboration within pediatric rehabilitation. Carefully selected to highlight the session theme each quarter.
  • Interactive Didactic Presentations: Expert-led sessions on the quarterly topic, featuring engaging discussions that foster collaboration, critical thinking, and professional growth.
  • Simulation Lab: Hands-on activities, demonstrations, and return demonstrations using real-world cases and equipment to reinforce skills essential for inpatient rehab nursing.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this activity, participants will be able to: 

  • Identify key principles of pediatric inpatient rehabilitation, including safety protocols, procedures, and emergency response processes.
  • Demonstrate safe, evidence‑based nursing interventions, including mobility support, medication administration, and patient/family education, in typical and high‑stress rehab situations.
  • Apply quarterly content to daily practice in the rehab unit.

Target Audience:

This program is intended for all nurses who work on the inpatient rehab unit and others interested in the content.
