David Dirsa is a Charge RN at Nemours Children’s Health Emergency Department in Orlando Florida. He joined Nemours in December of 2013 after moving from Portland, Maine. While in Portland Maine, David worked at Maine Medical Center Barbara Bush Children's Hospital as well as the Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department. David was awarded in 2008 Nurse Teacher of the Year Award while serving as the Charge RN for the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital. 

David has been awarded the Daisy award in July 2018, Daisy Team Award in May 2022, Daisy Award in November 2022 and February 2025 as well as the Good Catch Award in June 2022. 

David obtained his BS degree in biology at University of Maine at Machias in 1998. He continued on the path of Nursing with an Associate degree in Nursing at the University of New England in 1998. He completed his BSN at the University of West Florida in 2019. 

David is certified in BLS, PALS, ACLS, ENPC and TNCC. David holds his certification as a CPEN (Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse). Recently David completed the Professional Nurse Advancement Program an obtained the Clinical Nurse IV. 

David has his Firefighter 1 Certification and has been an EMT-B.
