Cristina McGreal, MSN, NP-C

Nursing was a second degree for me as I first wanted to venture into the world of hospitality as a young adult. I graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management. After 6 years in the industry, I decided that field just wasn't enough for me. I returned to the University of Delaware and received my BSN and have worked at Nemours ever since (almost 20 years now). My first nursing job ever was in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I worked there for over 10 years and was part of the original and ongoing growth and expansion process including the ECMO team. I then continued my education to become a Nurse Practitioner while I worked in the NICU. Upon graduation of my Master's of Science in Nursing program from Widener University, I moved into the world of Genetics, and now Orthogenetics.
I have worked in the skeletal dysplasia side of our orthogenetics team for 10 years, with a main focus on osteogenesis imperfecta. We have been continuing to grow our OI program to include prenatal care and delivery and continuing care on through adult-hood, until the age of 35. We have developed a comprehensive OI multidisciplinary care team. We attend national and international academic meetings to continue to advance the care for children and adults with OI. We present and share our information and expertise of our clinical findings and experience all over the world. We also remain on the research forefront and participate in multiple OI research study groups. We have maintained excellent with the osteogenesis imperfecta foundation in both the US and Europe. We pride our team in caring for the OI patient as well as their families.
