Trainers will discuss the impact of supporting bereaved and traumatized young children and their families. The training will also cover the concepts of “use of self,” “vicarious trauma,” and “caregiver fatigue.” Trainers will also discuss how to identify and attend to their own emotions/trauma histories while working with families, as well as strategies for self-care.
Learning Objectives
After participating in this session, attendees should be able to:
- Explain the concepts of “vicarious trauma,” compassion fatigue,” and “caregiver fatigue” and describe 3 risk factors.
- Explaining the concept of “parallel process.”
- Identify and explain the three key components of Reflective Practices.
- Define the concept of the “wounded healer.”
