Course Description:
This one-hour course focuses on the critical role of teamwork and communication in managing pediatric trauma codes. Participants will learn strategies to enhance team coordination, maintain situational awareness, and ensure clear, effective communication under high-stress conditions. The session will cover principles of crew resource management, closed-loop communication, role clarity, and leadership techniques that improve patient safety and outcomes during pediatric trauma resuscitations
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to
- Describe key principles of effective team dynamics in pediatric trauma codes.
- Demonstrate closed-loop communication techniques during simulated resuscitations.
- Assign and clarify roles to optimize efficiency and reduce errors in trauma care.
Target Audience: Emergency department nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals involved in the acute care of pediatric cardiac patients.
