Series Summary:

Managing Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) for critically ill children requires high quality, safe, and effective care to manage hemodynamic instability with renal failure. This regularly scheduled series provides learners with a 2.5-hour hands-on practice session with the latest equipment for CRRT.  The session will include dedicated time to prime the PrisMax system, troubleshoot a variety of warning alarms, and practice blood return processes relevant to Registered Nurses caring for children with renal replacement therapy. 

Learning Objectives:  At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • demonstrate equipment priming.
  • interpret warning alarms and correctly intervene.
  • participate in simulated scenarios. 

Target Audience:

This course is recommended for critical care RN's who manage patients receiving CRRT and participation in 2 sessions per year ensure on-going competence.
